In the news all week was the possible finding of an alien megastructure. This news item brought up a topic that I tried to get started at Arizona State University. At my Alma Mater, I was trying to start a student group that focused on the topic and it was called “T1C” for Type 1 Civilization. There are three different civilizations that were described by Nikolai Kardashev who was an astronomer in the Soviet Union. Now I know everyone talks about type IV and V civilizations but I’m staying with the original theory. We still don’t know what a true Type 1 Civilization really is because people can’t predict what the United States is going to look like five years from now. This would be great for the U.S. to continue to fund its military budget (I argue to raise it for scientific reasons) but raise the proportion of the U.S. science budget. A focus on T1C could yield major technological innovations and benefits for not only the economy but humankind itself.

This comment from Peter Diamandis’s “Back to the Future” article is a great start toward the thinking we need to adapt in the long run.

If we are ever going to get past Type I on the Kardashev scale, we need to begin looking at accomplishments in 1000 year cycles, and make goals in 1000 year cycle.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

The mechanism for achieving this goal is Capitalism and Democracy.

Automated Vacuum Collection – Great for NYC, LA, SF, SD and Chicago.

pneumatic_waste_collection1-660x400

The U.S. financial sector needs to be very strong and vibrant to redevelop the nation. A new section on emerging technologies will show the reason why the banks need to have huge reserves of savings. The American worker needs a situation where the whole compensation system is reformed and makes money work for them. Automated vacuum collection would be one of the many upgrades for American cities. This new system will make taking out the trash totally different where you could collect trash, recyclables, and compost to the collection point where it is processed.

A sensor would look to activate the system and the trash would be sucked out of the bins. The U.S. has the talent, manpower, and innovation for this but with everything you need to finance it.

Nixon and saving the U.S. Dollar

Nixon_30-0316a

I’m not a fan of some of the policy decisions of President Richard Nixon. There are two areas that I feel will make people reconsider him. His decision to pull the U.S. Dollar off the gold standard made the Dollar free float.  The Nixon Doctrine was another of his position that is seriously debated. These two policy decisions of President Nixon helped to bring the dollar back under the control of the U.S. Government and the U.S. Federal Reserve system. While many criticized his action known as the “Nixon Shock” he defended the U.S. economy. His actions caused the U.S. economy/dollar to rise on his actions. One of the most controversial decisions was the “Nixon doctrine” which states that every nation is responsible for its defense but the U.S. will be used for a nuclear umbrella. Many look at the foreign policy aspect of his doctrine but few look at the reasons why he did it. The U.S. was a major industrial exporter in the world at the time. The policy of President Nixon was to use the military/nuclear might of America against foreign meddling in trade pacts where U.S. jobs were at risk.

This aspect deserves a closer look but people are products of their time. I can’t take today’s standard and applied it to the past so yes there are things I agree with but things I disagree with.

This is a second of a two-part series on the attempted transformation of the U.S. government to better support the economy.

Bringing back the War on Poverty (Ending the war on poor people)

lbjpov1

The war on poverty is often debated, praised, and criticized in the United States. I’m going to take a different approach to the war on poverty that is never really talked about. The fundamental restructuring of the U.S. economy by exporting the old industries out of America. Replacing them with new industries in space, telecommunications, computer technologies, and computer languages. This was in the 1960s, the whole war on poverty was to raise the standard of the population(wages, salaries), create new industrial clusters, and exploit old industries in newly freed colonies to help them develop their economies in the struggle against the Soviet Union.

This is a first of a two-part series on the attempted transformation of the U.S. government to better support the economy.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Benefits to the Economy and the Multiplier effect

The second video in a two-part series is to explain the benefits of understanding the basics of capitalism which in turn advances democracy. The citizenry must understand to reform the fiscal (taxation and public spending) and monetary (interest rates) policies of the United States to favor the whole population than the small affluent elite. The Multiplier effect helps lift all tides by providing extra capital to lend for students loans, car loans, interest payments, and mortgages and allows the person who takes the loan to service (maintain) the loan.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Entrepreneurial Spirit -Inconvenient Product

When someone looks at the video with the young woman that is going around on social media I was thinking that we have to do better. When I began to take a closer look at what she was saying and her mentality is no different than the young entrepreneur who creates a start-up in a new industry, a stockbroker on Wall Street, a young athlete training hard to go into the NBA or NFL.  The mentality is the same and The Hamilton Institute wants to redirect its efforts in the right direction. The benefits of redirecting the economy from indirect to formal will unleash untold benefits not only for these communities but for the economy on the whole.

Transforming the community’s economy from indirect to formal will help these communities be able to reduce poverty, repair schools, reduce crime and generally improve the outlook for the members of the community. The products of an indirect economy (drug, gun-running, prostitution, numbers, and other items) become the first and sometimes last option for many underserved communities.

The Hamilton Institute offers options that create a better alternative than going to prison, horrible runs with police, and the criminal justice system.

This is the best way to combat inequalities.

Fractionalized Banking

Creating the “More Perfect Union”2015-10-11_11-51-23

The first step to understanding Capitalism and how it works is to understand money and how money works. It is impossible to become wealthy in a capitalist system if you do not understand capitalism and think it is a dirty word. It is also important to note, that if you do not understand capitalism, it is impossible to understand democracy; because democracy is the gateway to making capitalism work for you.

If our democracy is to become effective it is important to teach capitalism to everyone, so that we as citizens would elect representatives who are dedicated to making capitalism work for each citizen. Our goal is to ensure that the common people, working together, become an exceptional civilization. We want you to join us as we attempt to educate each citizen parent in implementing the moral science goals set-forth by our Founding Fathers. EDUCATION BE PRAISED: POLITICS BE DAMNED!

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Renewing the Journey to the “More Perfect Union”

cropped-2015-07-10_12-43-24.jpg

This is not just another blog to present a liberal or conservative viewpoint. One need only look at congress and the government in general to see that we are presently at a stalemate in our progress to creating the founding of our nation as mandated by our founders and stated in the preamble to the Constitution. Let us take a moment and ponder the significance of this part of our principle founding document.

Founding Purpose

“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

These words are not just oratorical flourishes; they have meaning and serve a purpose that is indispensable to our personal as well as national identity. I would go so far as to say, that these words not only define us as individuals and as a nation, but it defines something that is more expansive and encompassing. I would strongly suggest and defend the proposition that the preamble to the constitution gives meaning to the very existence of American Exceptionalism. Founder Franklin articulated this best when he said…

“Oh! that moral science were in as fair a way of improvement; that men would cease to be wolves to one another; and that human beings would at length learn what they now improperly call humanity.”

There is no more refined socioeconomic enumeration of moral science than the words that encapsulates the essence of our nation and our individual identity. When we reduce the words of our Preamble to the irreducible, we find our true moral identity; it is this identity that is the essence of our moral compass and ethical mechanism.

Founding Moral Law

1. Establish justice (“for all”)

2. Insure domestic tranquility (“for all”)

3. Provide for the common defense (“of all”)

4. Promote the general welfare (“of all”)

5. Secure the blessings of liberty to our posterity and ourselves. (“for all”)

Today, we stand at a threshold. Conservatism seek to calcify the past and liberalism seek to liquefy the future. This is the critical stage where we are stuck. There is but one way out. We must go to our founding essence and seek to understand the next step in our progress to that more perfect union. That next step is the eradication of disease and poverty. These are issues around which we must Colace. In so doing we will find our moral compass and begin anew the journey to that more perfect union.
