Corporate Inversions are good (Yes I said it)

This is one of the reasons that I decided to found The Hamilton Institute to help resolve these issues in the global economy. This may sound a little weird but corporate inversions are great for not only business but for helping people raise their financial profile. The difference between people on Wall Street and Main Street is Wall Street make money work for them. Main Street just spends its salary without a financially planned way. Instead of making a ruckus about this and getting potential voters inflamed. The politicians should realize that some people some invest in these companies. I’m not excusing the stripping and hopscotching which is detrimental to the tax rolls.

The Hamilton Institute proposal for taxes features a special section to deal with inversions, repatriation, and removing the U.S. worldwide taxation system. This will create a situation where the government receives the tax payments to upgrade critical sectors in its economy. The money can be invested in keeping the U.S. competitive in the global economy like education, R&D, and infrastructure. The corporation, investor, and the institutional investor will be given the incentive to continue to take risks.

Introducing the Tesla Mobility Group

photo

With the VW scandal and the Consumer Reports downgrade of Tesla’s Model S has created a new prospect for me. Tesla, which is under the tutelage of Elon Musk who is breaking down a lot of barriers. Elon has transform industries whether it is in commercial space exploration with SpaceX, green energy with Solar City, and the automotive industry with Tesla’s electric cars. The emissions scandal which has done the company severe damage on all fronts and at the time of this writing is still ongoing. I have a disruptive idea for a disruptive identity by putting VW under Elon Musk’s Tesla Motor Group to form the Tesla Mobility Group. This will help create a new automotive titan which helps to move the industry towards sustainability.

This is entirely possible by cashing out the controlling interests and giving Elon control of the organization. I recommend the U.S. Government (and all players) to consider this to help shift suppliers to begin combat declining industry clusters in the U.S.  By reforming the tax code, welcoming entrepreneurs from all over the world, and a high tech immigration policy by shifting to new clusters to revitalize the economy. Some say that this is the government choosing winners but the market has already done that. The demand is there which leave certain issues to resolve like upgrading infrastructural concerns, tax credits for establishing entities, and creating the incentive for customers to purchase the future.

The U.S. Dollar, Bitcoin, and Blockchain

Source: The Economist

While many see Bitcoin as a fab, blip, or an annoying phase in finance. The “brains” are researching into the technology to see the true potential of BlockChain. Many are researching a way to for “seamless transactions”(no currency fluctuation and credit card fees) that BlockChain may allow. Many are having very healthy debates about the future of the technology. Banks and Credit Card companies see the benefits of having a secure but open ledger system but it is still too complicated for management or the public. I truly see the future of having a truly global currency without national governments interfering.

One application of Bitcoin which The Hamilton Institute agrees with the experts. Using Bitcoin, to stop the chaos that happens with crashing currencies and national disaster areas like earthquakes or civil wars. The blockchain tech can be used to dissolve and counter the Snowden effect for tech companies, governments, and civil society groups. We are becoming more aware and sophisticated where the guild lines of the past no longer apply. The Snowden effect has caused a lot of damage and trouble for American Tech Companies. This could be used to move to privacy debate to Anonymity which will match where we are in this technological period.

Type I, II, III, IV and V Civilizations (A great plan for the global economy)

In the news all week was the possible finding of an alien mega structure. This news item brought up a topic that I tried to get started at Arizona State University. At my Alma Mater, I was trying to start a student group that focused on the topic and it was called “T1C” for Type 1 Civilization. There are three different civilizations that described by Nikolai Kardashev who was an astronomer in the Soviet Union. Now I know everyone talks about type IV and V civilizations but I’m staying with the original theory. We still don’t know what a true Type 1 Civilization really is because people can’t predict what the United States is going to look like five years from now. This would be great for the U.S. to continue to fund its military budget (I argue to raise it for scientific reasons) but raise the proportion of the U.S. science budget. A focus on T1C could yield major technological innovations and benefits for not only the economy but humankind its self.

This comment from Peter Diamandis’s “Back to the Future” article is a great start toward the thinking we need to adapt in the long run.

If we are ever going to get past Type I on the Kardashev scale, we need to begin looking at accomplishments in 1000 year cycles, and make goals in 1000 year cycle.

Automated Vacuum Collection – Great for NYC, LA, SF, SD and Chicago.

pneumatic_waste_collection1-660x400

The U.S. financial sector needs to be very strong and vibrant to redevelop the nation. A new section on emerging technologies will show the reason why the banks need to have huge reserves of savings. The American worker needs a situation where the whole compensation system is reformed and makes money work for them. Automated vacuum collection would be one of the many upgrades for American cities. This new system will make taking out the trash totally different where you could collect trash, recyclables, and compost to the collection point where it is processed.

A sensor would look activate the system and the trash would be sucked out of the bins. The U.S. has the talent, manpower, and innovation to this but with everything you need to finance it.

Nixon and saving the U.S. Dollar

Nixon_30-0316a

I’m not a fan of some of the policy decisions of President Richard Nixon. There are two areas that I feel that will make people reconsider him. His decision to pull the U.S. Dollar off the gold standard which made the Dollar free float.  The Nixon Doctrine was another of his position that is seriously debated. These two policy decision of President Nixon helped to bring the dollar back under control of the U.S. Government and the U.S. Federal Reserve system. While many criticized his action known as the “Nixon Shock” while he defended the U.S. economy. His actions caused the U.S. economy/dollar to rise on his actions. One of the most controversial decisions was the “Nixon doctrine” which states that every nation is responsible for its defense but U.S. will be used for a nuclear umbrella. Many look at the foreign policy aspect of his doctrine but few look at the reasons why he did it. The U.S. was a major industrial exporter in the world at the time. The policy of President Nixon was to use military/nuclear might of America against foreign meddling of trade pacts where U.S. jobs where at risk.

This aspect deserves a closer look but people are products of their time. I can’t take today’s standard and applied it to the past so yes there are things I agree with but things I disagree with.

This is a second of a two part series on the attempted transforming of the U.S. government to better support the economy.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Bringing back the War on Poverty (Ending the war on poor people)

lbjpov1

The war on poverty is often debated, praised, and criticized in the United States. I’m going to take a different approach to the war on poverty that is never really talked about. The fundamental restructuring of the U.S. economy by exporting the old industries out of America. Replacing them with new industries in space, telecommunications, computer technologies and computer languages. This was in the 1960’s, the whole war on poverty was to raise the standard of the population(wages, salaries), create new industrial clusters, and exploit old industries to newly freed colonies to help them develop their economies in the struggle against the Soviet Union.

This is a first of a two part series on the attempted transforming of the U.S. government to better support the economy.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Benefits to the Economy and the Multiplier effect

tax20man

The second video in a two part series is to explain the benefits to understanding the basics of capitalism which in turn advances democracy. The citizenry must understand to reform the fiscal (taxation and public spending) and monetary (interest rates) policies of the United States to favor the whole population than the small affluent elite. The Multiplier effect helps lift all tides by providing extra capital to lend for students loans, car loans, interest payments, and mortgages and allow the person who takes the loan to service (maintain) the loan.

Founding Purpose: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Entrepreneurial Spirit -Inconvenient Product

When someone looks at the video with the young woman that is going around social media I was thinking that we have to do better. When I began to take a closer look at what she was saying and her mentality is no different than the young entrepreneur who creates a start up in a new industry, a stockbroker on Wall Street, a young athlete training hard to go into the NBA or NFL.  The mentality is the same and The Hamilton Institute wants to redirect their efforts in the right direction. The benefits of redirecting the economy from indirect to formal will unleash untold benefits not only these communities but for the economy in the whole.

Transforming the community’s economy from indirect to formal will help these communities being able to reduce poverty, repair schools, reduce crime and generally improve the outlook for the members of the community. The products of an indirect economy (drug, gun running, prostitution, numbers, and others items) become the first and sometimes last option for many underserved communities.

The Hamilton Institute offers options that create a better alternative than going to prison, horrible runs in with police, and the criminal justice system.

This is the best way to combat inequalities.
